Flora Inspiration #013

by Culti-Vate

These delicate glass flower holders are hand made by Roy & Pat from Gallowglass and were bought at a fair in Ludlow. They have been hanging in the window ever since just crying out for me to tell you all about them.
Each one is unique and handmade to order by Roy, so no two will be ever be identical. They have such a dainty appearance with thin fragile pointed tips that kick out at the bottom and frilly edges with a small hole that is ideal for string or ribbon to hang them from. They are perfect for single stems of flowers, I choose to use Gypsophila paniculata ‘Baby’s breath’ to show you how pretty they can look.
I will be looking out for Gallowglass again, although based in Scotland, they travel around the country and can be found at a multitude of different fairs selling their beautiful handmade glass beads (this is their main product). If you would like more information on Gallowglass & their beautiful glass products follow the link above to their website.
I really love the elegance of single stems in vases, I think I’ll be on the look out for more vases/vessels that are suitable for single stems in the coming months.
